Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini was livid after the Rosanero’s defeat against Torino and piled the pressure on Coach Francesco Guidolin.

The struggling Sicilians have slumped to 10th place after a 3-1 loss at the hands of a side containing five former Palermo players.

The outspoken Zamparini lost patience with ex-Coach Stefano Colantuono back in November when the Aquile were sitting in sixth place and has seen his side slide down the table since reappointing Guidolin.

We Need More Consistency For Uefa Cup - Guidolin

Palermo coach Francesco Guidolin prefers to think about securing the team's stay in Serie A rather than aiming for a Uefa Cup spot.

Palermo coach Francesco Guidolin was satisfied after yesterday's draw away to Reggina (0-0), but he's already thinking ahead to the next match, against Udinese, which could be decisive in the race for a Uefa Cup spot.

"Against Udinese a direct encounter? Let's just think one game after another," he said, "if we manage to win perhaps we can start thinking big. We've had an overly inconsistent season, which is why I first think about reaching 40 points. To reach the Uefa Cup you have to be consistent, which we haven't been so far."

For the match against the Friulani, Guidolin will have a number of important players missing, as he explained: "Next Sunday we'll be missing a winger like [Federico] Balzaretti, who always makes good runs, and we'll be missing a player who can play on the left wing.

Amauri Will Cost €25m – Zamparini

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini says that star striker Amauri will not be sold for a penny less than €25m.

Amauri is set to leave the Rosanero in the summer after receiving the club’s blessing to realise his ambitions at a bigger club.

The 27-year-old is wanted by a whole host of Europe’s giants, including Milan, Juventus, Barcelona and Chelsea.

Although Amauri is up for sale, Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has made it perfectly clear that he will not be allowed to leave unless his asking price of €25m is met.

"A Spanish side offered 22million euros, but I refused," the fiery businessman told the Italian media.

"For less than 25million euros we will do nothing, but I think an agreement could be close."

Amauri has scored nine times in 24 appearances in Serie A this campaign.

The Brazilian is expected to gain an Italian passport at the end of next month, which leaves open the possibility of him representing the Azzurri at this summer’s Euro 2008 finals.

I just hope Amuari does not leave Italy, and especially not to the fucking Foreign Investors League, otherwise known as the EPL. Chelsea supposedly made an offer for him last January but that stinks of agent horse manure. For the good of the league he needs to stay in Italy.
