Hey glad, I am not sure you were baned. It appears as though our privileges have been deactivated. Nevertheless, I have been in contact with Socc and he took the drastic action of shutting down the forum because disrespect. He said he was call ed cnut and dickhead and believe he had to take a stand.

I am glad Shield took the initiative also so that we can at least communicate with each other. It has been our long standing rule to make decision collectively for the good of our community. I hate moving again, but obviously if a majority decided to leave then of course I will follow. At this point, I want to know if there is anything we can do to resolve the problem with Socc and return as before. I am not saying we must do that now as clearly we currently have not forum at XFF, and some of our most beloved members have been banned.

All I am saying is that Socc has been very tolerant of us since we came there. I am not defending his decision to shut down the forum in its entirety, but lets face it sometimes we can be difficult and I am probably the worst violator of forum rules. In fact, Socc has taken a lot of shit from other users for appearing to show favoritism to us at the Roma forum. Primarily because of me quite frankly. You all know how I get with the juve fans. Lets just calm down and make a collective decision on what is best for all of us.

Obviously, if we have no forum to return to and many of our members are prevented from posting, then the decision will be made for us.

I am having a hard time fitting the posts into my screen and I have a 20 inch monitor. Is there something I can do?

Shield, good work on setting this up, my friend. No doubt we'll have a few teething problems but I'm sure we'll be able to keep our little community together.

Avvocato, my only question regarding the sound reasonableness of Socc's approach is why is it that he didn't simply delete the offending messages in the board and reprimand the offending members but also decided to go into our pms (oddly, so far as I could determine, an abbreviation for 'Private' Messages) and delete the few that dib-dab and Shield and I had sent to each other and to you and to others which would have provided a sure sense of things as they were unfolding? Clearly he felt irrationally threatened for some reason or another. No doubt dib-dab got stuck into him in the end, but as a reaction to Socc's bizarre continuation of their little spat. And Socc's continuation, naturally, was less than perfectly elegant or placatory.

At the risk of laying claim to a bit more influence than I probably have, I suspect I got under his skin by criticising his treatment of Populusque, however cautiously I tried to couch that, and so when I posted something in support of dib-dab he lost it with me almost out of the blue and kept swinging when Shield came in at almost exactly the same moment. Kroo, for instance, has, I suspect, been temporarily banned for posting something like "Seriously, Socc, let it go." Offensive stuff, that.

Anyway, Socc has lost the plot, I'm afraid. No doubt he's now trying to spin it to you as a rational stroke of patient despair. Unfortunately for him - and, indeed, for us who were happily enough entrenched over there - it was something quite different. We've been given glimpses of this in his refusal to let the argument with Juventino-Italiano die and also, I think, in his responses to Dino over the IP Addresses. In each case I've been a bit surprised that he's wanted to continue the argument, pushing and pushing, when I should have thought a moderator would have been wanting to let the 'interruption' die down. We also saw it in his tone in some of those messages, though I didn't comment on it at the time - he had a tendency to abuse his position of power in those exchanges so that they were never quite even clashes of wit. And then we saw the beginnings of this all again with dib-dab. None of this has particularly bothered me in the past, though I guess I was a bit uncomfortable with the way he bullied J-I, but it all seems to me part of the same set of characteristics we're seeing now. It is a pity, of course.

Maro, very well said, and good to see you here... at last. I was not aware at all that Socc had the power to view and delete PM's, and this, to me, is ridiculous and way over the top. As you said it defeats the whole purpose of 'private' messages. I suppose this means that the PM's I sent to everyone in our community were never delivered – or some weren't – and so was a complete waste of time. How else were users who were not around when all this mess happened supposed to find out. Certainly not through a closed, forum, banned or inactive members, or by asking the powers that be what has occurred. Quite a ridiculous sitiation and a downright stupid way to operate a forum. He obviously felt irrationally threatened, as you said, or perhaps a bit deranged or delirious.

Hmmm, not sure why this is happening. Is it the lenght of the posts which are causing the problem, or the width of them which would sort of stretch the space in that post? You'll have to forgive me as I am completely new to all this operating a forum business, and altough I am slightly getting the hang of it, there are loads and loads of options which I can configure and set up in various ways. I look into it further in the options I have. Is anyone else having problems in the way they view the forum or the threads?

Maro, I understand the situation. If we are forced to move out for the sake of keeping the community together, then so be it. We have always made this decisions collectively and I do not intend to disrupt that now.

What can we do about conforming the posts to fit our screens. This is driving me crazy going back and forth across the page in order to read the posts.

Gladiatoreromano, you should know by know that this sort of comment contributes nothing to the overall flow of the conversation and is not in anyway related to this topic of this thread, so I will obviously be deleting it. Furthermore, I will soon grow a humongous c*ck out of my forehead and proceed on a rant in which I shall bicker and quibble with you over the colour of shite, and also delete every other post relating to this issue...

Glad, my man, like c'mon huh, gimmie some credit, I may have 'Site Admin' as my title, but it is only because I set up this forum, and someone had to do it. I do not intend to go to such levels as we have seen elsewhere, and will only delete something if I don't like it (joking). Seriously, I know you were joking but this forum here – if we do decide to stay – is for all of us and no one is above anyone else. At present it is only us here (maybe the Milanista's?), and we all know each other and can deal with any issue's which may arise, except, of course, for Maro's never-ending and disgusting sheep fixation...
