Juventus midfield starlet Antonio Nocerino has spoken publicly for the first time since being run over late on Monday evening.

The ex-Piacenza star was hit by a car after attending a friend’s party in the ‘Mamma Mia’ restaurant in Turin.

Initial reports suggested that Nocerino had been knocked unconscious, but that has now been discounted.

After treatment at the city’s Umberto I hospital, a concussion and some bruises were the extent of the 22-year-old’s injuries.

Camoranesi out for 45 days

Yesterday Mauro German Camoranesi underwent a series of tests as scheduled, to ascertain the extent of the muscle injury he suffered Sunday in the game against Udinese.

The midfielder was given ultrasound and NMR scans that showed a 2nd level muscular distortion to his right thigh’s third medial rectus femoris muscle.

The injury is not as bad as was thought at first and the prognosis is consequently less than the two months feared right after the match. After consultations with Professor Carlo Faletti and club doctor Michele Gemignani, Dr. Riccardo Agricola suggested that Camoranesi will be sidelined for approximately 45 days.

Antonio Nocerino also had to receive the attention of the club's medical staff following his accident Monday night in Turin. After being released from the Umberto I hospital, yesterday the player was examined thoroughly and no trace of wounds was found. Today he will undergo a magnetic resonance test too. If the result is negative, he'll be able to train again already Thursday or Friday and he may even be available for the Roma game.

Grygera and Salihamidzic are fully fit again, while Giorgio Chiellini has a pain in his back since Sunday. The defender didn't take part in Tuesday's training session as a precaution.

Juventus come back from Rome happy about the performance but unhappy about what happened to Jorge Andrade, who had to leave the pitch on a stretcher early in the second half and could be unavailable for quite some time. As mentioned by Manager Ranieri during the interviews after the match, Juventus' doctors fear that the right knee's tendon may be damaged. The Portuguese central defender will undergo further tests on Monday.

Broken kneecap for Andrade

Jorge Andrade, after spending the night at the Fornaca clinic, underwent Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and X-ray tests to diagnose the left knee injury suffered in Rome.

These tests, carried out by Professor Carlo Faletti, showed that the patella bone is shattered. Therefore surgery will be needed to repair the bone and to review the condition of the kneecap tendon, which was operated on two years ago.

The abovementioned situation appears less serious than previously thought, but the player will still be unavailable for a long period of time.

Well, smart ass, I read the article in Italian and it appears to be a fractured knee cap and he needs the tendon that holds the patella in place repaired. He had the same surgery 2 years ago, so the man is suceptible to reinjurying himself.

well from what I understand the patella bone is shattered. I wasn't trying to be smart with you, I'm just going by what the offical website says. He was out most of last year with knee problems. We knew this when we got him. He's had some bad luck, and its to bad because he is a very good cb.

Andrade operated on in Marseille

Jorge Andrade underwent surgery as scheduled at the Clinique Juge in Marseille for the injury to his left kneecap suffered last Sunday in Rome.

Professor Jean Pierre Franceschi carried out the patella bone's osteosynthesis, grafting a bone fragment from the iliac crest and consolidating it with a ringing procedure. The tendon was checked but no surgery was necessary on it.

The operation, which lasted approximately two hours and was carried out in front of Juventus club doctor Michele Gemignani, was a complete success. The player will remain at the French clinic for a few days to recover and then he'll make his way back to Turin, where he'll begin physiotherapy when ready. He won't be available for selection for at least 5 months.

When should we be expecting Camoranesi back?? I think that's the most important injury we have at the moment. Not that I care but when is Boumsong expected to be back?? Having more depth won't hurt, especially on defense. I don't think I can bare to see Birindelli in the starting line up.

I would say cammo should be back by the end of the month. Give him about 3-4 weeks and he should be good to go. Marchionni should return to the lineup within the next few weeks. I'm guessing he'll be ready before cammo.

The match against Fiorentina was distinguished by a relatively high level of fair play; however, a few Bianconeri are suffering from injuries picked up during the game.

Sergio Bernardo Almiron sprained his ankle a little, but he'll be available for the game in Berne.

Raffaele Palladino suffered a slight knee sprain. He will rest this week and probably take up training again next Tuesday. Therefore he won't be available for the Berne friendly, but will be back for the League match against Genoa.

David Trezeguet is suffering from a relapse of his kneecap tendon problem and will have to miss Friday's game against Young Boys too, but he should be available against Genoa.

Vincenzo Iaquinta was hit on the knee Sunday and underwent a nuclear magnetic resonance test with the National team medical staff, which ruled out anything serious. He should be able to make Saturday's Italy vs. Georgia match.

In the meantime, all the long-term injured players are recovering. Marchionni and Camoranesi in particular are doing very well. The former is perfectly on schedule, while the latter will undergo a nuclear magnetic resonance test to check how his muscle injury is healing. Both should be back for late October or the beginning of November. Boumsong will also undergo a nuclear magnetic resonance test soon, but it'll take him a little longer to recover.

And lastly, Andrade: the Portuguese player has returned to Turin after a period of convalescence in Lisbon, recuperating from his surgery. The knee is in excellent condition. A check-up is scheduled for next Tuesday in Marseille and he should be able to begin physiotherapy within ten days.
